We’ve set our official release date for our new record “This Will Be One for the Books!” for October 12 2010. It’s been a long time coming but we have a whole bunch of exciting things happening. The new record will be available on itunes, amazon, insound, and a ton of other places where you can get your hot little digital hands on it. Yeah, yeah that’s exciting and all but how about this? For the very first time, we’re proud to be saying our record will actually be able as a record- that’s right we’re doing 12″ Vinyl LPS. We’ll hit you in the upcoming weeks about where you can pre-order it.

Also on deck, the release of our video for “Boats” a cartoon from an amaaaazing animator guy from Argentina. It’s Argentinamation! Additionally, we’re gonna be taking another tour up the Midwest, Northeast and Canada starting on October 20 and ending before Thanksgiving, so stay tuned.

So much more stuff coming down the pike. A slew of shows. A slaw of shoes. All that stuff.

Lastly, our good friends Elsinore just released their new record, Yes Yes Yes a few weeks ago. It’s amazing. They are out on tour across the country and will be playing with us in October in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. If they come anywhere near you, go see them.

“This Will Be One for the Books,” declares Melissa Eccles of We
Landed on the Moon! in the lyric that doubles as the title of the Baton Rouge quintet’s
newest record. Indeed it will. Sure to be a staple on Ipods and playlists across the
nation, “This Will Be One for the Books” captures the vibe of the band’s energetic live
shows and the blistering fun of what happens when people really enjoy making music
together. The album will be available for stream online for a limited time only.

On their latest effort, We Landed on the Moon! sounds like Blondie if Blondie hadn’t
spent the last half of their career covering island kitsch or trying to rap. The new 11
song LP combines sizzling guitars and thumping heartbeat rhythms balanced by
Eccles’ expressive vocals and melded together with the subtle touches of handclaps,
harmonies and fender rhodes piano. Chock full of WLotM!’s trademark catchy hooks
and the band’s flair for the dramatic, the result is a record full of verve and life that
will rattle in your headphones like a big dancey washing machine.

Formed in early 2006, WLotM! quickly developed a devout local following before
taking off on the first of many trips across the Eastern half of the United States, with
their self-titled debut making a surprise appearance as the sole self-released album
on the CMJ Top 200 and Most Added charts. Their sophomore release, These Little
Wars (2009), continued their success, catching the ears of national radio stations
(WOXY) and concert planners, and launching performances at the 2009 New Orleans
Voodoo Fest, SXSW and CMJ Festivals as well as Toyota Free Yr Radio, and providing
the impetus for “This Will Be One for the Books,” which will be released in early
2010.

“We just wanted to make a rock record,” explains guitarist John Lambremont. “There
were times in the past where I felt like we’d get caught up in trying to do so much,
too much- with this record, we just wanted to make music that makes people feel
cool, even if they are just hanging out in their jammies. To make them feel as if they
are right there with us.”

The record was tracked and mixed at Fudge Recording Studio in New Orleans, LA by
Jacques DelaTour. Mastering done by Noah Mintz at Lacquer Channel (Broken Social
Scene).
